There’s something about the power of horses that attracted many great artists, especially horses in battle. DaVinci was one, and Rubens really loved powerful beasts thundering through fields of fragile human bodies. These are some rough sketches trying to capture a bit of that energy. Although we no longer experience horses on a daily basis, we’ve replaced them with shiny metal machines. The particular beauty that’s on this page cruises around our neighborhood frequently in the summertime.
